The California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA) announced the establishment of the new CalEPA EJ Action Grants Program (Program) in June 2023. Round 1 grantees were awarded in March 2024. Round 2 grantees were awarded in September 2025 – award announcement in English and Spanish!
CalEPA is administering the Program to provide grant funding to a wide variety of projects. CalEPA administers the Program as part of its overall mission to restore, protect and enhance the environment, to ensure public health, environmental quality, and economic vitality.

EJ Action Grants Solicitation Opens
CalEPA released Final Round 2 Program Guidelines for the EJ Action Grants Program on January 21, 2025. Grant solicitation was from January 21, 2025 – February 28, 2025 (at 11:59pm).

Fluxx Grant Management System
To support applicants navigating the Program, CalEPA utilized a Grant Management System (GMS) for online application submission in Round 2: https://calepa.fluxx.io/

Applicants utilized this user guide and this quick start guide for step-by-step instructions on how to navigate the grant management system.
Program Staff held a workshop on January 8, 2025 to provide an overview of the system and answer questions.
