In 2023, Senate Bill 122 granted CalEPA its own independent inspection and enforcement authority for the CalARP and HMBP programs. The statutory authority for inspection and enforcement authority is now codified in Health and Safety Code section 25502. CalEPA is working to develop an inspection and enforcement program and will continue to update this webpage with more information.
