CalEPA was formally established on July 17, 1991. As we celebrate our 30 years in operation, we also elevate events and accomplishments that took place decades earlier that laid the agency’s foundation as a global leader on climate action, protecting the food supply from harmful pesticides, building a circular economy, environmental health, cleaning up toxics and ensuring high quality water supplies.
