Kristin Peer, Assistant General Counsel

Biography

Kristin Peer was appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. in September 2015 to serve as Assistant General Counsel for the California Environmental Protection Agency. Kristin comes most recently from the California Department of Justice, where she served as Deputy Attorney General in the Natural Resources Law Section of the Public Rights Division since 2010.

Kristin received her law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2007. During her time at UCLA Law, she was an extern at the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in the Eastern District of California and a summer law clerk at Miller Starr Regalia in Walnut Creek. After law school, Kristin worked as an associate at Miller Starr Regalia until 2010. Prior to law school, Kristin worked as a Credit Analyst at Union Bank of California in Irvine.  Kristin received Bachelor degrees in Business-Economics and Spanish from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she graduated with honors and was awarded Phi Beta Kappa.

Kristin currently resides in Sacramento with her husband and two children.
