Biography

Christine Hironaka was appointed by Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. in February 2017 to serve as Deputy Secretary for Legislative Affairs at the California Environmental Protection Agency (CalEPA). Prior to joining CalEPA, Christine served as Assistant Director for Policy Development at the California Department of Resources, Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) since 2015. She had previously held the position of Deputy Director for Legislative Affairs at CalRecycle from 2014 to 2015. She also served as a legislative assistant in the Office of California State Senator Mark Leno from 2010 to 2014, and as a capital fellow in the Office of California State Senator Denise Moreno Ducheny from 2009 to 2010.

Christine graduated with honors from Stanford University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
