Sacramento--In response to today's speech by John Browne, Chief Executive Officer of British Petroleum of America (BP), California Secretary for Environmental Protection James M. Strock issued the following statement:
"BP's announcement calling for precautionary action on global warming is a clear and precise decision by BP to accelerate their corporate efforts to improve and enhance the environment and to tackle the issue of climate change head on. Their new direction will send a message for others to follow on how companies deal with and protect the environment. This bold move will set the world stage for other companies to emulate."
