Anaerobic Digester Projects
Anaerobic digesters produce biogas that can be used to power engines or used like the natural gas supplied by utility companies. The engines can power electric generators, and the resulting electricity used on site or fed into utility company transmission lines.
Most of the existing commercial anaerobic digesters in
California are located at sewage treatment plants and landfills.
However, because of extensive interest in recent years, there is
growing interest in digestion of dairy manure. This focus
includes “co-digestion” in which other organic feedstocks are
combined with manure to enhance the production of biogas.
